All of the magazine polls i have read to date show an overwhelming majority of America believes justice is served. Why shouldn't Paris go to jail for DUI charges (although that is not the charge)? Many people are sentenced daily for precisely that reason. Yes, several celebrities have been slapped on the wrist for similar situations, but those are merely examples of justice not being served. Do you truly want to perpetuate this inequality of justice?

Furthermore, initially, Paris was slapped very lightly on the wrist for those charges: she was fined a minimal amount of money, put on probation for 36 months, had her license temporarily suspended and required to attend alcohol abuse classes. The reason she is being dealt a tougher sentence is because she violated probation. When you violate probation so flagrantly, the sentence is always much more stringent. In Brandy's situation, the case is still pending. Accidents are precisely that, accidents. If some criminal evidence comes up, a case will be made. But her situation is so out of scope, it has no business whatsoever in your argument.

You are correct, Paris Hilton did not hurt, injure, or kill anyone. Those would be additional crimes. No one has to die for DUI to be a crime. It is illegal whether or not someone dies. She, more than anyone, can afford to be driven or hire taxi to take her to Vegas and back. And yet she insists on driving knowing full well that she will drink every time. She puts the lives of the public in danger each and every time. I have no sympathy for someone who willing risks my life every time she leaves the house.

After living in LA for so long, I have have a very low alcohol tolerance precisely because I will not drink and drive, so therefore i rarely get the opportunity to drink. If I could afford it, i would take a taxi every time i went out, but that's just not feasible. I value my life and those of my community too much. So I would never ever be in her situation because I am not so selfish and irresponsible. She doesn't care about your safety, so why do you care so much about her?

You should also know that your fears of Paris being placed in "a facility with murderers, rapists, people who have committed assault, battery, larceny, etc." are quite unfounded. She will be in a facility where she will be separated from the general population. The crimes you listed usually end up in medium to maximum security. And larceny is not necessarily a violent crime; it applies to all levels theft.

In your own words "No one is in Paris' head but Paris. No one knows how she feels or what she thinks but HER." So how do you know she has learned her lesson? All her actions are evidence to the contrary. She still contends that this is not her faultalthough she was warned that she was in violation of her parole more than once. Yet still blames her publicisit and her lawyers and everyone but herself. She takes no responsibility for her actions and she will continue to be a menace on the road until comes to realize that no one is responsible for her but her. She does not see that there are consequences to her actions.

If the governor were to pardon this worthless excuse of a woman whose very existence is nothing more than the embodiment of sloth, consumption, vanity and stupidity, then he should pardon all those currently facing jail time for drunk driving and those who cry when they are found in violation of parole.

How dare you waste the time of the governor on something so silly and inconsequential? You should be writing to him to do something about the poverty in South Central LA where children live in third world conditions due to no fault of their own. Perhaps you should read something besides In Touch or US Weekly. Then, you might realize there is genocide happening in Darfur and Somalia. Those are topics worthy of writing to a politician.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04359277866474907028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249415073331434034.post-65680146413830387662007-05-06T17:10:00.000-07:002007-05-06T17:10:00.000-07:00hey dude its very decent of you to show u care so ...hey dude its very decent of you to show u care so much about Paris's Fate, but do you really think the Governor Of California would have this issue high on his agenda of issues or events. I don't think so.
Also as stated she was not jailed for drink driving, she was jailed for going against her probation, which she done not once but actually 3 times, in the real world not many of us get a second chance let alone 3 chances, I think she needs to take the sentence on the chin and just serve the time and move fwd and keep some form of dignity and integrity..I am sure her 45 days wont be as tough as it sounds i am sure she will be allowed to keep her mobile phone and have access to certain things other prisoners are not allowed.. so just chill out. Cuz she didn't give a shit if someone got killed when she drove drunk--she didn't care to educate her stupid ass. In Paris' mind, she didn't do anything wrong, all she wanted was her f'ing in n out burger! Your letter to the Governor ...Are you kidding me?? Your letter to the Governor shows you don't even have the brains to understand why Paris got jail time. She did not get jail time for driving drunk..yes, she got off easy like the other celebrities for that one with 36 months probation. She got jail time because the dumb bitch VIOLATED that probation she was lucky to have and drove her vehicle not once, not twice, but MULTIPLE times when by law she was instructed NOT to. She snubbed her nose at the law thinking that it did not apply to her because of who she is. If anyone else who is not a celebrity did that, they would have been jailed immediately after sentencing and because she is a celeb (and i use that term lightly) she got a month to get her affairs in order. She had a chance to right her wrong and she didn't take it. She was too busy looking in her damn compact at her wonkey eye and fixing her lip gloss to care about learning what her probation entailed. So, before you waste Arnold's time, educate yourself on why she was sentenced and realize that justice was served.Dominiquehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11243453967229756437noreply@blogger.com
