Broadway Musical "Rent" Extended For 3 Months in NYC


The long-running Broadway hit musical Rent has been extended from June 1st to September 7, 2008. Originally the hit show's last performance was scheduled for June, but popular demand caused to producers to extend to show for three additional months.

Rent first opened on Broadway in New York City in the Spring of 1996 and was created by the late Jonathan Larson (February 4, 1960- January 25, 1996). Larson died less than two weeks befor his 36th birthday and just three months before the Broadway opening of his show Rent on Broadway on April 29, 1996.

Rent is the 7th longest running show in Broadway history.
